WHAT WE BELIEVE

“…Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”
(1 Peter 3:15)

As Christians we believe:
  • God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present
  • God created human kind, the earth, and everything therein (Genesis 1, 2:7, 2:21-25)
  • God exists in three persons (The Holy Trinity) – the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit
  • We must be baptized
    (Matthew 28:19)
  • The Holy Bible is the divine word of God which provides instructions on how to live a holy life
    (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Christ is the son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin
    (Matthew 1:18)
  • Christ died on the cross to atone for our sins, and on the third day following his death, he rose from the dead
    (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  • Through the resurrection of Christ, we will one day be raised to eternal life
    (1 Corinthians 15:42-44)

WHY WE READ THE BIBLE

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

God’s Word is alive!
The more you read it, the more you’ll understand it’s meanings, and how to apply it to your life.

To know God better you must spend time with Him. Not just in prayer, but in reading what He has to say. The Bible is God’s message to YOU!

God will not love you more because you read the Bible, or less because you don’t. It’s for your benefit — it is not a requirement to receive God’s love.

Jesus taught that God’s Word is a seed (Luke 8:11). Plant the seed of God’s Word in your life and you will reap blessings.

HOW PRAYER WORKS

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Prayer is your direct line of communication to God the Father. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, you can speak to God anytime, and about anything.

Although God is all-knowing, he wants to hear from you. Share with him all of your trials, and your triumphs. What happened at lunch on Tuesday. Your sorrows and your joys.

The Apostle Peter tells us to, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
(1 Peter 5:7)

When you pray, remember also, to “… pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
(James 5:16)
